The piston is one of the most important engine components, and is also themost prone to failure part of the engine. When the piston is working in the engine,it not only suffered from thermal shock by the high temperature gas, butalso from the alternating action of gas pressure, the physical properties of pistonmaterials was varied under such working conditions.Therefore, how to ensure the reliability of piston has been the focus ofpiston industry’s technology research. This paper’s task is using CAE tools toresearch the middle-high grade piston’s physical principle, and analysis thepiston’s key parameters, and to interpret the design parameters of piston, andreducing part of the engine testing, reducing costs, improve research technologyand piston’s quality and reliability.The master working of this paper is the CAE software application and designverification, and using CAE technology to research the piston failure model, andas much as possible to analysis the piston truly is the article’s emphasis anddifficulty. This paper’s target is the following:(1) Using the numerical simulation to study the piston’s workingtemperature, stress, distortion and the piston’s dynamics characteristics in thecylinder, and to help the piston designer to design producer perfectly.(2) This paper had analysis a variety of the typical piston design schemes,and predict possible risk failure point of the piston material, and all these CAEresult will be saved as the data-base of the piston designers.(3) Making failure theory research of middle-high grade diesel engine piston,and analysis the feasibility and necessity of using CAE failure model analysis, inorder to improve the piston failure analysis database, improve the corecompetitiveness of enterprises...
