The steam condensing system is a critical system which is used to condense the extraoverheating steam generated by steam generator. This operation is complicated by thespecial steam cooler. In the nuclear power plant, the occurrence of high pressure in thesecondary loop will threaten the safety of the main steam pipe and bring disturbance to thereactor. So the establish of steam condensing system will maintain the safety of the nuclearpower equipment when emergency condition is occurred. During the operating process, thespecial steam condensing system may experience static and dynamic conditions. Theanalysis of the operating characteristics is meaningful since it will reference the designersto modify and optimize the original design, and it will also give the operators someguidelines when using it.With partly lumped parameter method, the analysis of the cooling watermass-flow-rate, cooling water outlet temperature and liquid level is performed underdifferent steam loads conditions with fixed drain temperature; the analysis of the draintemperature, cooling water outlet temperature, liquid level is performed also under differentsteam loads conditions with fixed cooling water mass-flow-rate condition. Furthermore,shut down, start up, disturbance transients are also analyzed.The results show that drain temperature increases with increasing steam load,liquidlevel decreases with increasing steam load, cooling water outlet temperature increases withincreasing steam load under fixed cooling water mass-flow-rate condition; cooling wateroutlet temperature decreases with increasing steam load, liquid level decreases withincreasing steam load, cooling water mass-flow-rate increases with steam load under fixeddrain temperature condition; pressure decreases rapidly at the beginning of the shut-downtransient, and it decreases slowly subsequently; cooling water outlet temperature andpressure fluctuate during start-up process; pressure fluctuates during disturbance condition,drain temperature recovers to designed value after disturbance.
