As a large power equipment, gas turbine has been widely applied in air thruster,stationary generator as well as in other industrial fields. Different ignition systems oftraditional turbines have their own advantages and disadvantages, with the continuous arcplasma ignition system has the most advantages and the least disadvantages. The majorcharacteristics of continuous arc plasma ignition are short delay time, high ignition energyand long electrode life.This research carries out improvement and optimization on power supply of currentdirect plasma igniter to develop a new type pulses plasma igniter which suits a certain modelof combustion gas turbine. In the method of simulation, this paper proposes an idea of usingRC as the load to replace previous idea which uses valued resistance as the load. It turns outthat using RC as the load could effectively reduce the error and the results achieved are closerto the reality.In the process of the experiment, damages of diode, thyristor as well as other circuitcomponents are detected under safe working parameters. It is discovered that the damage iscaused by harmonic wave in the transformer generated by the nonlinear load in the circuit.Based on the experiments of using oscilloscope to catch, measure and analyze relevantparameter of that harmonic wave, it is argued that the harmonic wave is energy-intensive andshort-lasting. And these characteristics are the reasons why damages are caused in theexperiments. In the end, a series of experiments are conducted specific to this phenomenonand it is discovered that we can assimilating the energy of the harmonic wave in order toreduce it to a safe level by increasing the capacitance. In so doing, the harmonic wave will nolonger be a threat to circuit components and therefore the service life of the product as well asits dependability are improved.
