The paper would discuss and do the research on the designing and developing theVirtual-Instrument Technology of a testing system, which is based on the LabVIEW, thesoftware platform of Virtual-Instrument Technology, and take the Automotive ElectricalSub-System as a testing object. The main task of the project is to develop a set ofAutomotive Electrical Sub-System Testing System, which for solve the problem duringthe endurance test and performance test effectively. The AESS Testing System wasdeveloped on the basis of essential requirements of AESS, combined with Current IPCHardware, increase the PCI interface properly, and completed thought theVirtual-Instrument LabVIEW software platform. Base on the research of the mainproject, the develop procedure of AESS Testing System as follow: Research therequirement of AESS’s development, and list the functional modules which need todeveloped on the WORD document; After many consistent argument, the softwaresystem was design brief: the basic processing flow of system, the organization chart ofsystem, the classification of module, the assignment of function, the design ofinterface and the design of operation; After the preliminary design is the detailed designon the software system, considering the software’s subprogram layer; Software coding,to achieve the function of each module separately; Final step is the combination testingof hardware and software. The final result of project is to create a set of AutomotiveElectrical Subprogram testing system based on virtual instruments, including aexecutable testing software and a set of testing hardware. Adopting NI’s PCI platformand the flexible and convenient LabVIEW software system, enable us to build a testingplatform for Automotive Electrical Sub-System, which combined with multi functions:product development, testing and evaluation. Through the test of actual electricalsub-system, the results shows that the testing system can able to finish each differenttesting function quickly and accurately, and the system is expansible, conveniently touse for the other product’s testing. To develop and design the project provides us muchvaluable experience for the subsequent research and subsequent exploit of AutomotiveElectrical Sub-System.
