Cardiac disease is a chronic disease. Patients basically have the long-term sick. Acute onset of cardiac disease is a remarkable feature, so some patients had a sudden attack of cardiac disease on the street or at home, or somewhere not in hospital. They may die under this circumstances because of rescue time lose. If those patients can get rescuing and nursing care in time, they may live longer. Hence heart function monitoring in heart patients in a long time is very necessary, even in the whole time of life. Some premonitory abnormal symptoms may be got, then heart patients can get medical treatments in time. The electrocardiogram is an important method to diagnose all kinds of heart diseases in clinics all the time, and it is the most simple and valuable method to explain arrhythmia and conduction dysfunction disease, so it is necessary to monitor ECG signals(ECG, Electrocardiograph). But not all heart patients need to getting ECG monitoring lying in bed in hospital all the time, the majority of patients have a daily life. Telemedicine technology is helpful to solve the problem.ECG telemonitoring is an important part of telemedicine technology. It can monitor patient’s ECG for a long time remotely using communication technology, computer technology, electronic technique, and network technique. Patients would not be prohibited to stay in hospital, they can be anyplace where they like to stay. A remote ECG monitoring system was researched and designed using virtual instrument technology in this paper. The main research contents are as follows:1、Designing a hardware circuit for ECG acquisition according to characteristics of ECG signal.2、Designing a system which has simple operation and beautiful interface using Lab VIEW software tool. The system can analysis and process ECG signal collected from a patient. ECG waveform and results of analysis can be displayed on the screen, meanwhile, they can also be stored in the computer. When ECG signal is abnormal, a alarm signal will be seen on the screen.3、Designing a network for ECG monitoring system using TCP technology to transfer data. The ECG signal collected from a patient in the far distance can be observed anywhere.
