With the accelerated development of urban rail transit, the traditional way ofmanual driving has not gradually met the demand. Train automatic driving system useadvanced computer technologies simulation train driving process, and obtain reasonableoperation schemes which improves the passengers ride comfort and save energyconsumption under the condition of safe driving. At the same time, rail transit relatedprofessional talent demands are also increasing year by year. In view of the particularityof urban rail transit equipment, the measure of using real equipment to train theprofessional talent are infeasible. Under those circumstances, to establish a high degreeof simulation platform according to the existing rail transit driving system becomes aviable solution.Based on the above requirements, this paper, by using virtual reality technology, designed and developed a set of automated driving simulation platform, and studied thekey technology in this process. In this paper, firstly, the final development goal is setaccording to requirement study of ATO. Secondly, the system framework of hardwareand software are designed by analyzing the demand, and the system is divided intodifferent functional modules. The main modules in this system are designed detailed. Finally, the system on the basis of system analysis and system design is realized byusing mature technologies and tools, and the realization of the system’s main modulesare displayed and illustrated respectively. In this paper, the simulation of the ATO and the development of three dimensionscene program are studied in depth. The realistic driving simulation effects whichmaking users have “the sense of immersion” are produced by using computertechnologies and hardware work station and combined ATO technologies with scenewalkthrough. The training auxiliary subsystem is also developed to integrate into thesystem to build ATO simulation platform. The simulation of the system that has been designed and realized in this paper isrealistic, reliable and rich functional. It reaches the goal of training requirements for therelevant professional students and train drivers.
