Because of the specific operating environment in power industry, any inadvertentillegal action could lead to equipment failure, accident of personal security, and evenendanger safety work of grids. In order to guarantee the reliability of power system,optimizing grid structure continuously, improving equipment stability, amelioratingmanagement systems and upgrading employees’ skills and safety awarenessconstantly are in great demand. With the rapid development of power gridconstruction, habitual violation is the main reason for safety accidents, but traditionaltraining methods have been unable to meet the needs of electrical security training.In this article, we establish an experience system of accident cases based onimmersive virtual reality technology in accordance with the comprehensive analysisof current electrical security training development and domestic and foreign situationof simulation and virtual reality training. Then we dissect training needs regardingelectrical production safety and discuss design methodology and implementationprocess applying immersive virtual reality in detail. And we place heavy emphasis onsoftware and hardware construction and realization methods of key interactivefeatures. Finally we demonstrate the test content and results of system.Through the introduction of this article, we can know that based on virtual realitytechnology and combined with devices for motion experience, simulating workingprocedure and consequences of accidents in power companies can help operatingpersonnel learn working knowledge and skills or experience consequences of riskoperations without actual working equipment and environment so as to improve safetyawareness and technical abilities. Further research on application of virtual realitytechnology in traditional training industry is of great demonstration significance.
