Magneto-Rheological (MR) damper device are gradually applied in various fields, but applied to the damper on the market at present the appearance size is relatively large, and the range of damping force are in more than a few hundred or even thousands of Newton, more application in bridge engineering, vehicles, etc. In this paper, combined with domestic and foreign research on Magneto-Rheological damper technology, micro Magneto-Rheological damper against doing further study.To this end, this paper made a creative work as follow.The first, in order to make the range of damping force is less than one hundred Newton, Micro-Magneto-Rheological damper is designed. The Micro-Magneto-Rheological damper outside-wound coil winding structure, which reduced the apparent size and energy consumption of the damper. For material magnetism characteristic of damper piston rod, through the experiment on the silicon steel and carbon steel, two kinds of material of the piston rod in permeability and demagnetization performance were analyzed, and draw on the magnetic properties are better than silicon steel, silicon steel use silicon as a damper piston rod material, further improve the performance of the damper.The second using the theory of finite element analysis and ANSYS simulation software, finite element analysis and comparison of external excitation coil for the design of the damper three different winding way. Simulation results show that in the magnetic field distribution external cylinder body at one end part of the winding coil than on both ends of the outer cylinder body and the outer cylinder body all part of the winding coil more reasonable.The third in order to test the homemade miniature the dynamic mechanical properties of Magneto-Rheological damper, building the damper dynamic performance test platform. The platform not only for the design of Micro-Magneto-Rheological damper dynamic performance test, but also dynamic performance test of spring damping device, through the contrast more intuitive reflect the micro mechanical properties of the Magneto-Rheological damper.Research results show that the development of the outer coil type Micro-Magneto-Rheological damper has good damping characteristics, and its range of damping force for18-55N, adjustable ratio is3.05, adjustable damping force range to meet the initial design requirements. The design ideas and research methods provide a reliable theoretical basis for the research and development of Micro-Magneto-Rheological damper in future.
