Bridge structures in the load repeatedly under the action of the overload vehicles, in particular, can produce all kinds of damage which include local damage. For a bridge, to ensure its safe in using and prolong the service life, timely reinforcement, the detection is necessary which can determine its carrying capacity and performance, take the researchers to realize the bridge’s actual working condition under test loads.In this paper, one bridge’s static&dynamic load test and finite element basic theory were introduced. In the paper, according to characteristics and internal force of bridge, the static&dynamic load test plan of this bridge has developed. Then through field test, the stress and deformation and frequency of the bridge have been measured. The bridge’s static load structural behavior and dynamic characteristics haye been analyzed which used the finite element method. The safety of the bridge has been assessed. The main work in this paper is as follows:1. The basic content of bridge’s static and dynamic load test have been summarized.2. Through theoretical analysis and simulation of ANSYS, the bridge static test loading condition and magnitude and process of loading and unloading in each condition and main control section and spatial location of measuring points distribution have been determined which laided a foundation for field test study.3. The static load test, the stress, deflection and displacement values of control section have been measured, and then contrasted with simulation value to determine whether the bridge situation is conform to the specifications and design requirements.4. Through ambient vibration has tested the arch bridge’s natural vibration frequency and modal and damping ratio. The impact factor of the bridge has been evaluated in the form of running car or brake to vibrate the bridge. The arch bridge’s vibration characteristics has been tested which through bumping test. The bridge’s stiffness and damping characteristics have been evaluated from analyze its dynamic characteristics. The bridge’s overall performance and operating status have been evaluated further.
