GIS for safe operation of the power system stability is essential, in the event of failure, will cause the regional blackouts. Because it is a large enclosed composite structure systemmaintenance outage will result in significant losses. Before a failure occurs in the GIS, if wecan detect and determine operational status of the insulation, it is particularly important.Currently, GIS equipment running state detection method is relatively mature, such as: typetesting, field testing, on-site electrical testing and analysis of the gas density, etc., but theinsulation on the running state of GIS lack of effective evaluation methods. With economicdevelopment, users are increasingly demanding high reliability, researching GIS insulationcondition assessment methods is very important. The project in the experimental production of a variety of typical GIS platformsinsulation defects, PD characteristics typical defects, caused by PD characteristics of SF6gas decomposition and influencing factors, and collected more than urban network GIStypical defects and operational characteristics, build GIS typical insulation defects under PDpattern database and SF6gas decomposition component database, research differentinsulation defects PD UHF signals and SF6gas decomposition component characteristics andinfluencing factors, with a variety of insulation defects reveal the type of association than theright, looking for effective characterization of different insulation defects characteristicquantities. The project combines field application, a comprehensive analysis of GIS insulationcondition monitoring principles, methods, proposed ultra-high frequency, ultrasonic, SF6gas composition analysis and comprehensive detection method for the operation andmaintenance to provide a scientific basis.
