Since the middle of the twentieth century, air spring is widely used in the automobile.The performance of the air spring is paid more and more attention to as the vibrationattenuation part. Especially the influence that various parameters of air spring have on itsstiffness will directly affect ride comfort. This paper mainly targets the diaphragm air springof the car seats, and researches the impact of different parameters on the mechanicalproperties of air spring. The main work includes:1. Make classification and conclusion of the air spring according to the characteristics ofits structure and differences, contrast advantages and disadvantages of diaphragm air springand bladder air spring, and then gain advantages and disadvantages of air spring compared tothe traditional metal springs.2. Determine test methods based on requirements of the GB/T13061-1991. Make thescaling test, air test, static test and dynamic test for the sample of air spring, and respectivelyget the load-displacement hysteresis curve and dynamic stiffness curve of its sample.3. Introduce the modeling method of the air spring and gas unit in ABAQUS software.Describe the advantages of which the nonlinear finite element of ABAQUS software appliesin the air spring system modeling. Make detailed introductions about the division of grid,simulation of the gas unit, the material properties setting, simulation of the cord layer, loadand constraint. Describe carefully all process of the finite element modeling of air spring.4. Make simulation and calculation for vertical static features of air spring. And comparethe simulation results and experiment results. Through analyzing the load-displacement curve,the simulation results with good similarity to the test results, which show the simulationresults have reference value to the development of air spring have been found out. Viaemploying advantages of the rebar unit simulation of cord layer in ABAQUS software, theeffect that the initial inner pressure, cord angle, cord spacing and cord cross-sectional areahave on vertical features of air spring is studied.
