With the rapid development of power electronics technology, by its advantage of fast open degree and low conduction power. IGBT power modules have been widely applied to various fields, such as motor controller, active inverter switching power supply technology. But along with the increasing power density, we need to focus on resolving thermal failure problems caused by the heat loss of modules.In this paper, the thermal design of the IGBT module in the electric vehicle motor drive system inverter was studied. First, according to a suitable method to calculate the power module loss in projects, we can obtain the loss of IGBT during working. We made use of CAD software for three-dimensional modeling of the three high-power inverter module to import into large finite element analysis software ANSYS, and accomplished much comprehensive experimental analysis of the numerical simulation of the fluid in the cooling system as well as the power module, then the cooling effect of the different water-cooled heat sink structure was compared to study the flow field and temperature field of the cooling system. Thereby thermally efficient channel structure would be configured for the cooling system.
