This paper first describes the research background, significance of the greenway network, analyzed and summarized the research status at home and abroad from four aspects, the construct elements, the planning methods of greenway, the landscape index analysis method to construct the greenway network, the practice of greenway network. In the present study, landscape index analysis method is the method of comparative study of landscape pattern of scientific and accurate. On this basis, the landscape index analysis method and its application in the greenway network construction is emphasized in the paper, Six kinds of landscape index through comparative analysis of present situation and the planning of green space system(Patch number, patch density, largest patch index, mean patch area, patch area and perimeter aggregation index),we can know the changes of the planning green space system in the landscape pattern, especially the broken change degree and connectivity in the landscape, then to improve the planning green space in the aspect of landscape system. Then select the most ideal solution with the comparative analysis of four kinds of greenway network construction of corridor structure and corridor network through four different corridors and nodes connected mode. At last, adjust and improve the most ideal solution according to the status and characteristics of the city, Finally, get the greenway network scheme optimization to provide guidance and reference for the landscape pattern optimization of the city.This paper takes the typical Middle Hilly City--Changsha for an example to have the planning practice with the landscape index analysis method. Firstly, turn the three landscape types(Green patches, Green river road, Green road information,) according to the present situation of Changsha City Green Map and Changsha Central Urban Green Space System Plan (2012-2020)(hereinafter referred to as the green space plan diagram downtown Changsha) into editable GIS calculation format and calculate the perimeter, patch number, patch area. According to these datas calculate patch number, patch density, largest patch index, mean patch area, contagion index and perimeter area ratio of six kinds of landscape index value. Through the analysis found, we can see that Changsha City green space system planning, although increased the number and size of a green, but had the result of landscape fragmentation increased and the connection degree decreased. The main reason is that the development of City material space obstructs the green space network system. So, this paper constructs the greenway network to reduce fragmentation and improve connectivity. Delimit the grading according to the distribution of Changsha City greenway network node and the corridor and in the full analysis and understanding of the main function and the circumference of each node and the corridor of land cases. Construct four solutions by different corridors and node connection and comprehensive analysis on four solutions by using corridor structure index and structure index. Get the greenway network scheme four is green road network optimization. Then carry out the relevant adjustment and modification combined with city status and characteristics, finally get the greenway planning scheme takes into account both the city construction and beneficial to the ecological landscape, the city ecological system and city system two to achieve harmonious coexistence.
