China is in the process of rapid urbanization a nd industria lization, a process thatmay be sustained in the fo llowing20or30years. The swift socia l and scientificdeve lopme nt brings us life convenie nce and also poses various cris is and dauntingchalle nges. Under the influe nce of industria lizatio n and populatio n boom, peoplecome to realize the damage of environme nta l pollution and resource shortage. In thecourse of urbanizatio n, architecture is the largest resource and energy-cons umingindustry. In face of s uch issue demand ing prompt solution, the modern architectureca lls for the developme nt of new architectura l system and the renewa l of researchmodel.Based on the ge neral s ystem theory and syste m o f architectura l scie nce, thispaper investigates the research model and application approaches of modernarchitectura l syste m of bamboo structure. By analyzing the architectura l sciencesystem with the tho ughts of s ystem theory, this paper points out that theunconventio na l architectura l syste m is the innovation based on the conve ntiona larchitectura l syste m. The materials and techno logy, as the materia l basis ofarchitectura l syste m, will pro mote the advance ment of the architectura l syste m withits progress.Modern bamboo structure architecture, as a new-type unconventio nalarchitectura l syste m, conforms to the future deve lopme nt require ment of thearchitecture with its green, environme nta lly friend ly and sustainable features. Fromthe three perspectives of the research va lues of bamboo structure, materia ls andtechno logica l deve lopment and architectura l structure and interconnection techniquesthis paper exp lores the issues existing in the deve lopme nt course of the architectura lsystem of modern bamboo structure. The materia ls and technolo gy of bamboostructure, once closely comb ined with the untraditiona l research model, could be fullyutilized and ga in better socia l and economic benefits.The syste m theory is utilized to ana lyze the impact of the interna l factors ofarchitectura l s ystem, suc h as architecture and structure, architects and engineers aswell as materia ls and techno logies on architectura l syste m. In modern architectura lsystem, the architects and engineers, as the user and researcher of the materia ls andtechno logy, sha ll work close ly to advance the renewa l of the unconve ntiona l materia ls and technolo gy. This paper, from the fo ur aspects of environme nt, econo mic factors,science and techno logy and socia l culture, ana lyzes the bearings of externa l factors onthe develop ment o f modern architectura l syste m o f bamboo structure and s ummarizesits deve lopme nt trend under the influence o f all these factors. Fina lly, it p uts forwardthat the modern architectura l syste m of bamboo structure, as a new research modelthat must be adopted by unconve ntiona l architectura l s yste m, could reduce thecomp le xity o f the app lied technolo gy, narrow the differences with the conve ntiona larchitectura l syste m and shorten the time of learning and applicatio n.It explores the application of modern architect ure of bamboo structure in greenecologica l architectura l system, regiona l architecture and earthquake-resistancebuild ings and proposes the regularized, standardized, stereotype and ecologica lapplication model.
