Since we enter the information age, information has been more and more transparent. Besides, the global economy system tends to be integration, and business competition is increasingly fierce. Doing things by irregular ways cannot be available any more. Now, we have just stepped into a "big data era". The volume and variety of data is just as huge as dust, while the value density is very low. And more important, it’s changing all the time. According to many economists,"big data" is called "invisible gold mine" and "oil in the future", which shows the great importance to our social and economy. How to grasp the key to the market in this era of information explosion, to outstand itself in a wide range of competition, is a very important and difficult question that every enterprise working on.In this paper, the transformational process of the design innovation is concluded, ranging from the original to the present days, involving the promotion of the status of design and the value and role of designers. Then the impact and function brought by the "Big Data" to the design innovation is taken into consideration. As there is great value hiding behind the data, such as pictures, blogs, clicking recordings, digging deeply and fetching out those valuable information, like the acting way of the consumers, the motivation during the purchasing and their thinking and behavior habitat, will be key important to finding new market, predicting the future and making decisions. And if designers know well of these information, they can probably performing great creativity by integrating related resource to the target objective. And based on the frequent analyzing of the big data, designers can also optimize their works effectively and promote further creativities.At last, this paper settled in the development of design innovation pattern in the background of big data, in order to provide something valuable and instructive to those enterprises which have not reacted to the coming of "big data age", or to alert related people of the coming of the new age, so that they can get preparation and pay attention to the vary before it’s too late.
