Nowadays, innovation has drawn more and more attention with the unprecedented leaps and bounds development. How to keep continuous dynamic innovation and ensure long-term competitive advantage effectively is one of the important problems urgently needed to resolve for enterprise. According to the difference of innovation strength, the technological innovation is divided into incremental innovation(II) and radical innovation(RI), in the field of technological innovation management. Although, incremental innovation can indeed promote enterprises the ability of independent innovation, it can hardly break through the bottleneck problem of industry products technology upgrade from low-end to high-end which should be solved by radical innovation.Radical innovation is the evolutionary process from the S type curve exit period to the next S type curve growth period. That is, the evolution process is from low-level order to high-level order. On the basis of "negentropy and dissipative structure theory", guided by the “order" concept in physics, radical innovation is regarded as dissipative structure which entropy changes negative, absorbed a large number of "negentropy flows". It is the entropy change process that has evolved from the low-level order to high-level.Based on the former views, this paper focused research on negentropy driven development of key technologies for radical innovations, including the definition of radical innovation concept from the respect of function, applying radical innovation concept into new product innovation design systematic development process. The negentropy driven product radical innovation design systematic development process model was established. The product radical innovation is regarded as a dissipative structure which entropy changes negative after the introduction of a large number of negentropy flows. The dissipative structure model of product radical innovation was analyzed based on based on negentropy flows combined dissipative structure theory and catastrophe theory. Negentropy realization method was established under the dissipative structure analogy process. The product radical innovation ideas generation process model based on negentropy realization process was established. According to entropy changes process of product radical innovation dissipative structure, the evaluation method of product radical innovation was proposed based on information entropy theory. This paper mainly contains the following aspects:1. The concept of radical innovation was proposed from the perspective of function and the radical innovation concept was applied to the new product innovation design systematic development process. The starting point of product radical innovation design should firstly focus on a large number of mature and advanced technologies outside the industry field to absorb "negentropy flows" for the industry’s core technology to offset the internal system positive entropy increase caused by irreversible process. The result is the entropy itself changes negative and total entropy decrease. Thus, negentropy driven mechanical product radical innovation design systematic development process was established.2. The product radical innovation is regarded as a dissipative structure which entropy changes negative after introducing a large number of negentropy. The essence, cause and motive power of product radical innovation dissipative structure were analyzed based on negentropy flows combined dissipative structure theory. The cusp catastrophe process of product radical innovation dissipative structure was analyzed based on difficult function element solution and the dissipative structure model of product radical innovation based on negentropy flows was established.3. From the perspective of "negentropy driven", the analogy process was analyzed between qualitative analysis method mentioned basic research and TRIZ. negentropy realization method under the dissipative structure analogy process was establish to guide product radical innovation design on the stage of fuzzy front end generate innovation ideas. The product radical innovation ideas generation process model based on negentropy realization method was established.4. Taken information entropy theory as the quantitative analysis tool, on the basis of resources analysis of TRIZ theory, taken absorbed resources from the external environment as a kind of information entropy(negentropy), the evaluation method of product radical innovation was proposed based on information entropy theory.5. The innovation design and effective evaluation of 900 t bridge girder erection machine beam structure is used by product radical innovation ideas generation process model based on negentropy realization method and the evaluation method of product radical innovation based on information entropy theory to validate the rationality and effectiveness of the proposed theory and method.
