Much attention of people been paid to switched reluctance motor because ofits simple structure, low loss, easy to control and other excellent properties. Thedrive system is rapidly becoming a new type of stepless speed regulation system.Now it has been used in many fields such as electric vehicles, aerospace,household appliances and other fields in common. Torque ripple is a seriousdefect of switched reluctance motor, which has been the focus of scholars. Theformula of conventional motor design does not apply to the switched reluctancemotor because of its complex internal electromagnetic relation. And the magneticcircuit calculation is quite complicated. So the software design of switchedreluctance motor is very important.Firstly, the development and research status of switched reluctance motor(SRM) in the current are described briefly in this paper. Combined with thestructure characteristics and operation principle of the motor, the electromagneticdesign of the motor is determined based on the analysis of several typical modelsof switched reluctance motor.Secondly, the impact of structural parameters on the torque ripple of motoris studied in depth including the air gap, the outer diameter of the rotor, statorwinding turns, the outer diameter of stator, length of iron core and the pole arcwidth of the stator and rotor. And a part of the structure parameters are optimized.Then the methods to inhibition torque ripple are analyzed from the perspective ofoptimization of the motor structure. The motor model with the pole shoe of statoris put forward. Global finite element analysis and electromagnetic are completedusing the finite element analysis software ansoft.Finally, the method of electromagnetic design of the motor by using Visual Basic language is briefly introduced. The interface technology between VisualBasic and Ansoft Maxwell is researched in detail. The CAD design software iscompiled using Visual Basic programming language with reference to somerelated electromagnetic design formula and empirical coefficient. And the inputinterface and output interface of switched reluctance motor CAD are described indetail. The seamless link between VB and Ansoft Maxwell is realized throughscripting language. And the solve function about finite element analysis ofelectromagnetic design engineering software in one-click is come true.
