With the rapid development of automobile industry and widely spread ofautomobile products, vehicle traffic accidents lead to a large number of casualties andsocial property losses around the world every year, thus vehicle safety problems havebeen attached great importance by the entire automotive industry. Frontal crash is oneof the most common form of vehicle traffic accidents, of which “group die and groupof injury” phenomenon caused by the coach frontal crash is particularly serious.Therefore, research on safety of frontal vehicle crash is helpful to improve the overallsafety performance of automobile products in China and has very important practicalsignificance.At first, this issue expounds the present situation and development trend ofautomobile collision safety studies, and discusses the lack of large passenger vehiclefrontal crash research internal. According with modification about vehicle frontalcrash safety indexes of the newly issued<C-NCAP management rules(2012edition)>,and combining with the enterprise needs, taking a type of6137full load busas the object of research to make the collision simulation calculation, and to study theresistance performance.This issue according to the structure characteristics of full load bus, simplifiedthe model reasonably, and established the model of complete bus body structure inANSYS. And then, using the finite element meshing tool HyperMesh, finished themesh generation,the grid quality inspection, generating the solder joint, and thesetting of the boundary conditions, and according to the ECE R66rule, established astandard impact test rig, put and fixed the dummy model, ect. Then, let the finiteelement model crash rigid wall in the direction of100%dead ahead and crashdeformable wall in the direction of40%offset ahead. Comparing with collisionexperiment results of domestic similar real vehicle, analysis the results and calculatethe dummy damage index, and point out the resistance of the passenger car’s structurein frontal crash, and put forward suggestions for improvement about weak link of thestructure. This topic research provides the reference and improvement suggestions bysimulating and calculating structure crash for a certain type of6137coach, andprovides a design method and a specific route for our bus enterprises to improvecollision safety performance. It is of immediate significance.
