The permanent magnet synchronous motor is more and more widely applied in the national defense, industry, aviation, ship and other fields because of the advantages of simple structure, small volume, light weight, reliable operation. With the development of the vector control technology, permanent magnet synchronous motor speed control performance is close to the DC motor performance. The matrix converter is with a good application prospect in AC drive system because the sinusoidal of input/output current waveform, unity input power factor for any load, no bulky capacitors link, energy bidirectional flow. The permanent magnet synchronous motor vector control system fed by the matrix converter attracts the attention of scholars home and abroad as an optimized combination.The basic principle of the space vector pulse width modulation based on the matrix converter is deduced. The basic principle of the vector control permanent magnet synchronous motor system is analyzed. The unity power factor control system of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor based on the stator flux orientation is proposed in this paper, ensuring that the motor stator voltage vector and the stator current vector are of the same phase and the motor operate with unit power factor. The permanent magnet synchronous motor speed control system based on the matrix converter is formed to realize the four quadrant operation, high efficiency and energy saving.The Matlab/Simulink simulation software is used to build the simulation model of the matrix converter and the permanent magnetic synchronous motor unit power factor control system based on the matrix converter. The input and output performance of the matrix converter and the dynamic performance, the four quadrant operation characteristic and the energy feedback process of the system are analyzed and verified. Finally, with DSP and FPGA as the control unit, the control scheme of the permanent magnetic synchronous motor speed control system based on the matrix converter is designed.
