Energy conserving and emission reducing is very important to achieve sustainable development. There is an awful lot of low grade energy wasted in many industries, such as oil industry, chemical industry, light industry, metallurgy, building materials, paper making, textile industry, which directly discharged mostly causes great waste of energy. Developing low grade energy recycling method has great academically significance and engineering value. In this paper, the method and critical technique of low grade energy recovery and utilization was systematic analyzed and specific low-pressure saturated steam turbine was developed and optimized in order to improve the efficiency of waste heat recovery system.According to the characteristics of low pressure wet saturated steam, the expending and fluid characteristic in the steam turbine was studied and the influence of saturated steam on steam turbine design was analyzed. Through the research on the failure mechanism of wet steam in turbine blades, the programme of laser strengthening was improved.A set of small heat recovery steam turbine was designed, which the steam flow is It/h and the pressure is0.8MPa. The characteristic feature of the designed turbine is high efficiency and small structure size, which can solve the problem of low recovery efficiency and difficult recovery caused by asymmetric distribution of heat source and small scale of heat source. The structure of blade, impeller and cylinder was designed and strengthen checked. The numerical simulation of the nozzle was carried out in order to achieve the best expansion period size. When the throat length is1mm, the tip angle is10°and the expansion period length is10mm, the efficiency of the nozzle is the best, which can improve the efficiency of the saturated steam turbine.The three-dimensional model of each part of the steam turbine was built and the strength was analyzed with UG. Structure characteristics of steam turbine are verified in order to ensure the safe and stable operation of steam turbine, which laid the foundation for the efficiency of low temperature waste heat recovery system upgrade.
