The friction and wear phenomenon has always existed in the operation of mechanicalequipment. Cylinder liner-piston ring working environment is very bad, not only in the state ofstress to withstand high temperature and pressure gas, but also slide at high-speed in the cylinder, thus subject to friction and wear. Studies have shown that this friction losses can reach more thanhalf of all mechanical losses, in order to extend the life and reduce the friction loss, the researchon cylinder liner-piston ring wear performance is particularly important. In this paper, laboratory simulation experiments under different working conditions of6300c marine diesel engine cylinder liner-piston ring wear condition monitoring have beendesigned and conducted. Using friction coefficient, wear weight loss, surface morphology and oilanalysis, the tribological character of friction pairs has been researched. The friction and wearproperties of the cylinder liner-piston ring during test period have been discussed under differentload, the effect of different test speed or temperature on the wear performance have also beenstudied. It is shown the oil spectral analysis, ferrographic analysis and wear particle image textureparameters analysis can make a valid judgment on the wear conditions, consistent to frictioncoefficient, wear weight loss, surface morphology analysis results, and synthesizing of the threemethods makes the result more accurate and reliable. Based on spectral data, you can predict thevalue of the spectral feature elements with gray and LS-SVM predict model, thus the severity ofthe wear of the friction pair can also been predicted. The wear performance is different underdifferent test conditions. Under the speed of200r/min and normal temperature, the more test load, the more weight losses, the smaller convergence of the equilibrium roughness at the end of test, and the sooner the completed running-in period. The friction coefficient and wear weight lossesreduce, but the convergence balance roughness becomes larger when speed increases to the400r/min. At a temperature of80℃, there are littlechange in the coefficient of friction and wearweight losses compared to ambient temperature conditions, but the running-in time is shorter.Select the appropriate load, speed and lubrication temperature, we can speed up the running-inperiod and get a good running-in quality, enhance economic efficiency.
