Karst area is very large in our country, with the rapid development of high-risebuildings,more and more high-rise buildings will be built on karst foundation. In karstregion, karst cavity is one of the most typical forms,As a result of the existence of thesecavities, the continuity of rock and soil masses will be destroyed. As we konw that the verticalloadings of the high-rise buildings is very great and concentrated, all these factors might leadto the collapse of karst cavities, and finally this will cause a serious geological disasters.Sothis article have a analysis of the stability of the cavity in the kasrt foudation under thehigh-rise buildings, and this will have a profound significance in the design and evaluation ofthe engineering projects. This artical is based on a large number of documents in domestic and overseas and thedata of karst disaster in guangzhou.First of all,it introduces the research significance and thefactors of the stability of karst foudation, and describes some common methods in evaluatingthe stability of karst foundation.Secondly, it has a brief statement on the theories and themethods of the interaction of Superstructure-Foundation-Subsoil.Finally,with the help of thefunctions and theories of the ansys software,the3D body models for finite element analysisof the Superstructure-Foundation-Subsoil in the karst region are established, and then thenumerical simulation of these models have been carried out to analyse the deformation, stressdistribution and stability of the karst cavity in many cases, such as the change of the numberof highrise-building,the positions of the cavity, the elastic modulus of each component, thestrength of rock and soil aroud the cavity. And finally this artical has discovered the changingregularity of the displacement, stress distribution and plastic zone of the rock and soil aroudthe karst cavity, analyzed and compared variation tendency of these stability parameters ineach case.
