With the process of rapid civilization, retail space is walking forward to large scale,intensification, and cohesion. Meanwhile, because of the fast updated commercialactivities, the large amount of newly retail commercial space has triggered manysocial and environment problems. Thus, it is necessary to value the current chaosretail commercial development, which excessively seeks for multifunctionaggregation. This paper focuses in Urban Design, and puts forward retail spaceevolutionary development strategy, which means after combining with the laws of theretail development and retail space in urban development trends, the Urban Planningshould rely on the evolution of retail space driven by the restructuring of the areasurrounding elements, so as to promote regional human scale multi-functionalcombination.This paper adopting diagram analogy method and logical deduction method,analysis the retail commercial’s distribution and aggregation processing in urbanspace, sums up its’ space features and affective factors, and tries to find out spaceaggregation agent and space evolution structure. Then, some special pattern can beformed, and urban space structure fitted to retail characteristics can also be exploredout.The conclusions are as follows:(1.) The development of two types of retail space in the urban renewal trendtowards the "big" and space reconstruction. The space of the former process based ondifferent formats periods can grouped into small stimulate large, large lead smalland large digest small three stages. The latter focus in the urban functions’reconstruction, which contains replaced with collage, functional replacement andtemporary conversion into three categories.(2) The evolution of the retail space concept proposed development of slicedspace, space replacement, and places timeliness three space design principles, whichaims at creating a large pattern of small-scale urban retail space, functional structure with space conversion, the ambiguity of the space and unconventional developmentthree aspects.(3) The evolution of space development guide specifically includes three aspectsof the neighborhood space, construction and transportation, and retail space as themain body of the guidance and control repositioning, urban design and public space,street interface, the city the walk system relationship between the three.(4) According to the evolution of space policy for the three types of urban areas,the repair type design strategies to strengthen the type and creative strategy three.
