Underground pipelines are important part of the urban lifeline engineering. It is ofgreat significance that it ensures the normal operation of the urban lifeline by researchingthe seismic performance of pipelines, in particular, the piping interface. Through analyzedthe research results of pipeline flexible interface, this thesis proposed the program about themechanical properties of pipelines’ rubber seals. By applying the uniaxial tensile and flattensile test to two different hardness of rubber materials, which constituted the T-stylerubber seals of the ductile iron pipe with slide-in interface, this thesis obtained thestress-strain data which used to fitting strain energy functions of hyperelastic material. Thentook advantage of the ABAQUS material evaluation function and combined with stabilityevaluation to select some suitable rubber strain energy functions and to get correspondingmaterial constants. And the processes of uniaxial and plane tensile tests were simulated withfinite element method. Simulation results were compared with the tests results. In addition, the compression test was carried out on the specimens which were cut along the ring ofT-style rubber seals and simulation analysis was implemented to the process of compressiontest by using the ABAQUS. It was to verify the strain energy function’s applicability forcompressive deformation which obtained by uniaxial and plane tensile tests by comparedthe load-displacement curve of test and simulation. Finally, finite element model of DN150ductile iron pipe with slide-interface was established. By analyzed the deformation aboutrubber seals in the process of socket be assembled and pulled out to derived interfacecontact pressure and axial load. The above work will be helpful for finite element analysisof flexible interfaces with complex load conditions.
