These days, the vehicle automatic operations have become the trend ofautomobiles development. Especially the automatic transmission is demandedstronger and stronger with our income increasing and work rhythm being rapid. Theautomotive automatic transmissions fall into such four categories as AT(AutomaticTransmissions), CVT(Continue Variable Transmissions) and AMT(Automated ManualTransmissions). The automated mechanical transmission (AMT) holds the merits ofthe conventional manual transmission, such as high efficiency and good economicefficiency and good manufacturing inherit performance, it greatly meets the realisticdemand of China’s automobile development. Along with the development ofmulti-gear and automatic technology, the automated mechanical transmission iswidely used on heavy-duty vehicles.The control performance of the AMT has relations to the characteristics andparameters of the engine-the clutch and the transmission in the driveline. Thenonlinear characteristics of the engine and the clutch is analysed and studied.Theload characteristics of the driveline is analysed.The force applied to the wheel in thestarting-up process is analysed from the point of view of kinematics,which makes themastery of mostly external factors influencing he starting-up process.From the abovediscussion,the control strategy can be established reasonedly and availably.The establishment of the clutch controlling rules. Cutch controlling technology isthe most difficult part in the AMT system and at the same time it is the keytechnology to realize the automation of transmission. the frictional work and theimpact degree are brought, which are the two main evaluating targets of the clutchperformance, the former is to evaluate the life of clutch, the later is to evaluate thecomfortable feeling during the engagement of the clutch; Clutch engagement processand the influence to the evaluating indexes of the process has been analyzedsystematically in order to obtain high engagement performance. On the basis offormer theoretical preparation the ideal clutch engagement controlling rules areestablished. Secondly, the way to apply the clutch engagement controlling rules isdiscussed.Then,Build up the models with the software of MATLAB/Simulink for thepurpose to verify the truth of the controlling rules of the clutch. Since the high speedvalve (HSV) has been used in the performing mechanism, and the HSV influences themechanism’s performance greatly, the responsive properties of which has been discussed in detail. The magnetic circuits and the hydraulic systems have beenintroduced briefly while building up the models because they are included in theperforming mechanism of the clutch.Lastly,the models of engine’s throttle and the revs of the engine and the inputshaft of the transmission are built up when the vehicle is starting on a horizontal roadon the condition of windlessness. The transferred torque of the cultch and the roadresistances have been solved while solving the revs of input shaft of transmission.Then combine the models with the models of the performing mechanism of the clutch,run the models and get the simulation results.
