Automatic Mechanical Transmission has many advantages, be suitable for China’snational conditions, has become the focus in automatic transmission of a research anddevelopment now. Many colleges and car manufacturers have increased the intensity ofAMT system in the domestic. But the automatic control of the clutch in the AMT is thedifficult technology. Whether starting or shifting, clutch control would be affected from thecondition of the vehicle, running state, the driver’s manipulation of the intention, roadconditions and so on.With the development of China’s economy, motor vehicle ownership of some majorcities is increasing rapidly and road congestion situation is more and more serious,especially in multi-ramp Chongqing which has the name of ‘mountain city’. Under thesecircumstances, clutch start control seems of much more importance.This article chooses a domestic AMT car to study its starting issue. The followingprovides a brief introduction of my research:(1) Introduced the principle and classification of Automated Mechanical Transmission.Then the develop trend and situation of research on Automated Mechanical Transmissionand key technologies were summarized.(2)Analysis of the torque transmission characteristics and the friction characteristicsof the dry-type diaphragm spring clutch and established a mathematical model for thediaphragm spring and ‘the diaphragm spring clutch under load deformation’ model, andfinally gotten the linear relationship between the load of the diaphragm spring and thedeformation of the diaphragm spring and lays the foundation for the following modelsimulation.(3) Developed a control strategy of the clutch during starting including the clutchactuator fuzzy control strategy by means of analyzing the clutch engagement processwhich is done under the condition of meeting the target engine speed, taking theaccelerator opening degree of the engine and the clutch engagement speed as the controlparameter.(4) Build an AMT vehicle control simulation model according to vehicle dynamicsequations and conducted the initial simulation analysis in some typical conditions.(5) The thesis makes the initial test on the AMT clutch overall performance test rigand the result of the test verifies the accuracy of the starting control strategy.
