Single-phase CVCF (constant voltage constant frequency) PWM inverter can achieve DC/AC power conversion, which is widely used in speed control of machine, UPS(uninterruptable power supply), clean energy power generation, and so on. Digital controller is flexible, and can achieve complex algorithms, So it has been the most popular controller to improve inverter performance. for single-phase inverter,3rd,5th,7th,9th,11th,13th and15th order harmonic often dominate the harmonic distortion caused by the single-phase rectifier load. Selective order (3rd,5th,7th,9th, and so on) in the low-frequency band resonance controllers usually are employed in practice. In this paper, we employ a digital Multi-resonant controller implemented in a FPGA (Spartan-6) system. The modulation and the control of the inverter are achieved using FPGA which can be recoded, fast developed, and is cheap. The footprint of FPGA can be refined, which is a great help to upgrading and migrating of industrial products. All the calculation in FPGA is completed through hardware, the computing time is very short. Therefore we can achieve high speed real time digital controller. Furthermore the embed system MicroBlaze in Spartan-6can be used in key processing, real time display, and series communication of products. The inverter can be used in UPS (uninterrupted power supply), renewable energy resources (such as solar, wind and fuel cell, and so on) generations. The experiment is carried out according to the demand of UPS usage. FPGA based multi resonant control scheme is applied to a single-phase PWM inverter under resistance load and rectifier load to evaluate its validity.
