In recent years, with China’s rapid economic growth, the size of power grid construction in the rapid expansion. Demonstration project of the first domestic1000kV Jindongnan Nanyang-Jingmen UHV AC test has been successfully tested successfully, and put into commercial operation. With the transmission line voltage long distance increasing, put forward higher requirements of safety, reliable operation of power system. Power transformer is the important equipment in power system, its security and stability is directly affects the safe and stable operation of power system. Insulation of power transformer’s good guarantee power system safe,reliable operation of the decisive factors.Throughyearsof statisticaldata analysis, transformer for insulationdamage accidents accounte d for the total number of accidents from70to80%. There is a large part of the transformer in the factory or in the course of transportation insulation is flawed, in the process of operation, the insulation defect deterioration caused by the operation fault. Therefore, it is necessary to transfer test of power transformer. Partial discharge test of power transformer is a kind of non destructive testing, it can reflect thetransformers in the electric field, the local insulation breakdown, region specific changes in the electric field. Partial discharge test is very sensitive,can quickly test the defects of endangering the safety of the transformer insulation inner defects or transportation, installation, to prevent powerequipment accidents, ensure the stable operation of power system. The state also partial discharge test of transformer connection has detailed rules, the partial discharge test column must be detected at72.5kV and above voltage transformer are transported to the site of the project.After introducing the basic test of transformer partial discharge, combining theory with practice, from the people, machine, material, method, five factors are described in detail. Not only describes the test basis,preparation work, test equipment and operational resources, test process,test content, test steps each content, combined with the chart lists the steps of the experiment and standard test. Analysis of the interference field experiments, including the appropriate measures to prevent interferenceand its achievements.Select Qingdao500kV Huangdaosubstation, Huafeng220kV substation main transformer partial discharge test. As an application example, the transformer according to different transformertype, type,different voltageand differentmanufacturers, calculation, measu rementparameters on the measurement of partial discharge fault analysis steps,such as a full range are discussed in detail. Especially the failure analysis,is the practical problem of the construction unit of high voltage test personnel encountered, there is some reference value.
