With the depletion of the conventional energy, countries began to search forsubstitute energy sources. With the rapid development in the field of nuclear energyand wind energy utilization, people turn their gaze to the vast ocean. The tidal currentpower has also become one of the hot spot as one kind of marine energy. The field oftidal current energy generation has also achieved a rapid development.The floating tidal current power station is a typical type of the power generationsystem. The mooring system of the power station is directly related to the safety of thepower station. The mooring system shall be reliable in order to ensure it can servenormally. Generally, the floating tidal current power station is moored in the shallowwaters, the situation of the seabed is more complex and the environment load of theturbine is huge. Therefore, comparing to other mooring systems in shallow water, themooring system of the tidal current power station needs higher requirements.The content of this paper:The current force of the turbine is calculated by CFD to support the analysis ofthe mooring system. The wave force of the turbine is calculated by the Strip Theory.Based on the result of the wave force, the method is put forward to calculate thedamping and added mass of the turbine which is placed in the wave. The damping andadded mass is separated out used the Least Squares Method. The results are applied tothe calculation of the hydrodynamic performance of the floating tidal current powerstation.The hydrodynamic response, the hydrodynamic coefficients and the averagesecond-order wave forces would be calculated based on the frequency domainthree-dimensional potential flow theory. These results are the foundation of theanalysis of the mooring system.After the analysis of the environment load of the floating tidal current powerstation, the time-domain method is used to calculate the tensile of the mooring lineswith reference to the specification. The nonlinear materials mooring line is used inthis paper.To analyze the fatigue performance of the mooring line, The method and steps offatigue analysis is suggested based on the calculation of the tensile.
