Wave piercing catamaran has excellent navigation performance, such as seakeeping,turning ability, maneuverability and so on. This make it as the basic ship form widely used formilitary and passenger ferry. However, when wave piercing catamaran in maritime high speedsailing, heave and pitch motion will produce adversely influence to the ship’s performance,by these movement cause the vertical accelerations will not only lead to the sea-sickness ofpassengers or staff, but also can cause short-term equipment failure, bring a great threat to thesafety of the ship. Use of ride control technology can effectively inhibit the pitch and heavemotion amplitude of wave piercing catamaran, and then ensure the safety, stability andcomfort of the ship. In our country, the research on ship form design and hydrodynamic testhas been fairly mature, but the research on ride control technology is relatively less. Therefore,it has most important significance to research the stabilizing device of the wave piercingcatamaran and its ride control method. This not only can make up the technology blanks ofride control field in our country, also can help to research ride control technology ofmulti-hull ship, in the future. The following research is mainly done in this thesis:Firstly, establish pitch and heave motion mathematical model of wave piercingcatamaran, applies2.5D theory to do numerical calculation for hydrodynamic coefficient, theregular waves as interference, make wave piercing catamaran produce oscillation motion,T-foil as stabilizing device. Finally, establish wave piercing catamaran with T-foil’smathematical model.Secondly, use FLUENT software to do the T-foil’s hydrodynamic analysis. Throughchange the attack angle of T-foil to do the simulation of lift and resistance, through changeoutside conditions, mainly is the flow velocity, in the case of T-foil have a fixed attack angel,the static hydrodynamic characteristics was analyzed, and then establish the T-foil’s liftmathematical model.Finally, take the90m wave piercing catamaran for example, use of the LQR algorithmand state-feedback H∞algorithm design ride controller for the T-foil. UsingMATLAB/SIMULINK to establish the ride control system simulation model, and then do thelongitudinal motion and vertical accelerations simulation, through the analysis of thesimulation data, verify the two kind of ride controller all can achieve reduce ship longitudinalmotion, and improve the performance of the ship. The state-feedback controller and LQRcontroller’s control effect are compared, H∞ride controller’s performance is better....
