In many renewable energy technology, wind power technology mushroomed rapidly withthe green environmental protection advantage, but at present the control system is usuallyimported from abroad with fans integrally,the generality and compatibility of which is bad,since then the research in wind power control system is particularly important. By reviewing alot of domestic and foreign literatures and studies, it suggested that permanent magnetsynchronous generator is simple in structure, low cost, efficiency and high reliability, which isone of the most popular generators. And the wind power industry market won more and moreshare in this region, this paper is focused on the innovation design of the central controlsystem.The central control system is the kernel of the fan control system, which is associatedwith the other parts of the system and the fan systems. The main task of central control systemis to ensure that the fan can be accurately controlled, running safely and stable. Most of theFans are running in the abominable and uninhabited natural environment. It is a big challengefor the reliability and practicability of the central control system. In the current situation, theexisting central control systems did not meet this goal fully. Improving the reliability andpracticability of central control system is the main target in this paper, which including thedesign of controller, realization in the hardware platform, verifying the reliability andpracticability of the design.Firstly, as the foundation, the control principle of wind power generation unit controlsystem, system structure and controlling topology of wind power generation units wasintroduced, and then the design scheme of central control system was established. Accordingto the wind speed and different circumstances, design the fan operation area and regionalcontrol management, and determine the functions of the central control system, generate thecentral control system control strategy.Secondly, according to the overall design scheme and the control strategy of centralcontrol system, modeling the control system of direct drive type wind power generation inMATLAB Simulink was finished. The feasibility of the control strategy was verified.Utilizing different methods to determine the maximum wind energy capture process, which produced the maximum power point tracking algorithm.Thirdly, using the controlling diagram and program flow chat, the hardware and softwaredesign for the main controller of the1.5mw straight drive type wind power generation’scontrol system was finished. In order to meet the control task standard and runningenvironment requirements, Bachmann PLC was selected as the main controller, which is wasdeployed as part of the hardware platform with computer and display unit.Finally, experiments were done on the central control system platform, and thecommunication between the main controller and other modules were established, in this way,the performance of controller in small power generation was verified. The control procedurein the wind power generation was stable, which proofed the central control system isreliability and practicability, the research target was finished.
