In the process of development and utilization of the new energy, wind energy and solar energy get more attention and achieve rapid development. As wind and solar energy have a strong complement with each other in time and region, wind-solar hybrid generation system can realize the complement of their advantages, make full use of wind and solar energy, and improve the reliability of power supply.This paper focuses on the controller of off-grid wind-solar hybrid generation system. The paper proposes a MPPT method based on variable step disturbance observation method for wind-solar hybrid generation system. The hardware and software systems of the controller are designed. The main works are as follows.Firstly, the research significance and the main content of this paper are described. The development of wind turbine generation system, solar power generation system and off-grid wind-solar hybrid generation system are described.Secondly. The paper analyzes the property of vertical axis wind turbine, direct drive permanent magnet synchronous generator and photovoltaic cells, and builds their mathematical models.Thirdly, the paper proposes a MPPT method based on variable step disturbance observation method for wind-solar hybrid generation system.Fourthly, the paer designes the hardware and software systems of the controller, analyzes and summarizes them.Fifthly, the paper builds the simulation model of off-grid wind-solar hybrid generation system in the MATLAB/SIMULINK, develops the prototype of the controller for wind-solar hybrid generation system, completes the installation and debugging work. The paper copletes the experiment of the controller in the wind energy test base, and analyzes the collected datas.Finally, the paper gets the conclusion as follows.The paper realizes the MPPT for wind-solar hybrid generation system using the method based on variable step disturbance observation method, and achieves a better result.
