Compared with conventional strengthening method,strenthening steel structures with CFRP laminate has more advantages in some cases. This paper based on research results of the bending performance of CFRP reinforced steel beam at home and abroad, according to the defect of debonding failure at the end of CFRP, explores adopting the G shaped clamp to prevent the debonding failure and to improve the bearing capacity. The main research and conclusions are as follows:1. Reviews the research status of anchorage measures strengthened with FRP sheet at home and abroad, Mechanical anchorage is one of the most effective manners, But the existing anchoring measures are mainly for FRP reinforcing concrete structure, FRP reinforcement anchorage measures for steel beam rarely be found, anchoring methods also exist some problems, we plan to adopt the G shaped clamp grappling at the end of beam strengthened with FRP plate;2. Summarizes the main damage forms of beam strengthened with CFRP plate, uses the Equivalent Cross-section method to derivate the bearing capacity formula of reinforced steel beams in the elastic stage and the deflection formula with the four-point bending method;3. Based on previous studies, assumes that the plane section, linear elastic, uses force balance of the section element to derivate interfacial normal stress and shear stress formula of steel beams strengthened with CFRP plate, calculates the interfacial shear stress and normal stress on the four point bending condition;4. Through the four point bending test of5steel beams, observes the debonding failure process and characteristics of steel beams strengthened with CFRP plate, analyzes the strain distribution on the cross section, the load-deflection, the load-strain and the interfacial shear stress of CFRP plate, by changing the CFRP bond length and anchorage mode condition at the end and by analyzing the experimental data, concludes that steel beams strengthened with CFRP plate can effectively delay the transformation process of elastic to plastic, uses the G shaped clamp anchorage at the end can effectively prevent the stripping of CFRP plate and improve the bearing capacity.
