The performance of lubrication system has a crucial impact on its stability and reliability for a helicopter main transmission. The computer-based design method, which can effectively improve design efficiency, has a very good application prospect. In this paper, the parameters design and performance simulation method based on computer technology is studied.Firstly, the design method of helicopter transmission lubrication system based on power loss prediction was analyzed. The main technical parameters and its design method were studied. On this basis, combined with the application requirements of the engineering staff, the parameter calculation software applicable to the main transmission lubrication system was developed, and its correctness and stability was tested and confirmed.Secondly, the corresponding models in Flowmaster to those components of the transmission lubrication system were analyzed. Then, the Flowmaster model of the lubrication system for a gear test rig was constructed and its steady-state and transient performance was simulated. The comparison of simulation results and experimental data show that the modeling and simulation using Flowmaster can obtain results very close to those from experiment.Finally, the Comanche helicopter transmission was taken as an example to conduct lubrication system design and performance simulation using the parameter calculation software and Flowmaster simulation method. The performance simulation results show that the pressure loss is mainly caused by the system accessories, such as the radiator and the filter, and the tubes have a smaller impact on the total pressure loss of the entire system. Nevertheless, the pressure loss caused by the tubes still has a crucial impact on the oil supply pressures for different oil jet nozzles. And the oil pressure in front of the valve will have a dramatic impact if the valve closes too quickly.
