Layout And Design Of Parking Guidance Signs Of Regional Parking Guidance Information System

With the rapid development of China’s economy in recent years, the quantity of drivers and urban motorcars is increasing rapidly, the demand for road transport has high-speed growth.’Traffic Jam’and’Hard to Stop’is an increasingly acute problem. The parking guidance information system(PGIS) is an important component of ITS. In many cities abroad have different levels of development of the system. It has been proved that PGIS can largely solve traffic congestion, improve traffic safety and improve parking lot efficiency, reduce air pollution.Focusing on the current shortage of regional parking guidance system of China, based on the review of a great deal of domestic and overseas relevant literature, comparatively systemic and deep research on regional parking guidance system has been made. The management structure, subsystem and function of regional parking guidance system are discussed. Parking guidance signs is the key of parking information dissemination in PGIS. So, layout and design of parking guidance signs are mainly studied. The classification of parking guidance signs is studied and its layout principle and method are established. Providing the most amount of guidance information as the optimization target, the optimization model is erected up to determine the positions of parking guidance signs, and genetic algorithm is used to solve the model. Based on the analysis of driver’s visibility, front distance of parking guidance signs is studied and the model is analyzed. An optimization model is brought forward for the design of information boards on the basis of analysis of the whole process of from discovery of boards to action and designed forums of parking guidance signs. Finally, with an example of the practical study of PGIS in Beijing CBD, layout and design scheme of signs is analyzed.
