Domestic electric energy consumption is growing exponentially with therapid development of technology and the progress of society. Under the premiseof protecting the environment seeking safe, clean and efficient power supplies isan urgent issue for china and even the whole world. The numbers of wind powergenerators are increasing rapidly in recent decades, because the wind powergeneration is becoming a kind of renewable energy technology having anattention of some countries in the world. Due to the wind power generation filedlocated distantly and some regular sensors of them installed and repaireddifficulty it is urgent to research a convenient and comprehensive approach.Through the computer simulation and lab experiments of double fed windpower system, by using analysis of stator current method, a sensorless faultdiagnosis technology for wind power generation sets fault is presented in thisarticle and it is proved efficient and practicable by simulation experiments.Matlab/Simulink software is used to simulate the double fed wind generator,setting the system working in normal and fault situations, and comparativeanalysis the collected voltage, current and torque signals of the stator and rotor.Then a double fed wind generator simulation experiment is made according tothe laboratory condition. Double squirrel-cage asynchronous motor is used tosimulation the characteristic of the wind wheel, wound rotor asynchronous motorequivalent to as generator and two motors connect with overdrive gear.Frequency converter is used to adjust the generator rotor excitation current.Motor load current signal from current transformer induction is connected tosignal acquisition board, and computer software is used to complete the spectrumanalysis.It is proved by the simulation and experiment result that the test bench cansimulate the different conditions and faults of double fed wind generator. Thecollected stator current signal of the load circuit has the fault part, it mean the feasibility of sensorless fault diagnosis technology in wind turbine faultdiagnosis.
