It is greatly significant to ensure the stable and safe operation of power grid for pumped storage power station. Due to the development of modern power grid construction, which turns to extra high voltage, large capacity and long distance transmission, so it is easily to cause some problems of points on higher voltage and it also seriously affects the safe and stable operation of electricity transmit-ssion and transformation equipments. So it is very necessary for leading phase operation. It is very considerable for pumped storage motor in leading phase operation, in order to balance the reactive power of system and adjust the voltage of system. The effects of these aspects are very prominent.The related theory analysis of the pumped storage motor is written in the first section of this thesis, which is working in the leading phase operation. And the expressions of electromagnetic power and reactive power are deduced, which pumped storage motor working in leading phase operation. Static angle characteristic is analyzed. The comparison is also used between steady state operation and leading phase operation. The static stability limit of pumped storage motor working in leading phase operation is simulated. Static stability limit, which working condition of pumping water in leading phase operation of pumped storage machine is also researched. Include three kinds of conditions: pumped storage motor directly connected to the infinite power grid, excitation regulator rejected using on pumped storage motor connected to the infinite power grid, excitation regulator used on pumped storage motor connected to infinite power grid. The simulation model of pumped storage motor working in leading phaseoperation is also built in this thesis. The related physical measures are simulated which running from late phase operation to leading phase operation, and the change rule is analyzed. And then the adjustment of the exciting current is increased, including three kinds of conditions: adjusting the exciting current to initial value of60%,70%,80%. The related physical measures are simulated. The depth of leading phase operation is analyzed. A preliminary study for multi machines in leading phase is written in this thesis. The direction of research is also put forward.The difficulties which should faced to is also researched. The method of multi machines stability is discussed. The theory which is of coor-dination between multi machines in leading phase is also analyzed. Finally, the simulation model of multi pumped storage motor working in leading phase operation is also built in this thesis. The related physical measures are simulated. With the same adjustment of the exciting current, the curves between one machine in leading phase and multi machines in leading phase are compared. In order to analyze the differences and the same points.
