Along with China’s rapid economic development, railway transportation is facing tremendous pressure, in order to improve the railway transportation capacity, to vigorously develop the potential of high-speed railway and the development of railway transportation, the mixed run railway operation modes are freight transport, passenger transport and EMU in the existing line railway system. Accompanied by freight trains from the modification of the SS series to HXD3series and CRH5series, thus there emerges SS4, SS9, HXD3B, HXD3C, CRH5the electric locomotives collinear mixed running conditions. Then relative to the original that only SS4, SS9electric locomotives running on electrified lines, new problems emerged, like negative sequence, harmonics and reactive power compensation. In recently years, there are several accidents like low harmonic resonance or high-order harmonic transmission amplification caused electric locomotives traction transformer secondary winding voltage-limiting resistor or substation, reactive power compensation and filtering capacitor burning occurred in the Northeast region, With the continued increase of the AC-DC-AC electric locomotive containing high amplification and harmonic transmission characteristics more deterioration caused catenaries under high harmonics.In this paper, the above problem the select mixed ran traction based on power supply system in order to the SS4type HXD3B electric locomotive is being researched. First, I analysis of SS4HXD3B electric locomotive and direct supply traction power supply system works as well as the power factor, harmonic voltage and current distribution pattern and size conditions; Secondly, the establishment of for the SS4type and HXD3B-electric locomotive mathematical model, simulation analysis by using Matlab/simulink software to obtain through simulation harmonic distribution is consistent with the principles of analysis; thirdly, in the actual work site field measurements, using the UP-2210online power quality monitor and the PQ Secure power quality monitoring and evaluation software Harbin supply section Wanggang substation traction power quality measurement analysis, the actual measurement results prove the correctness of theoretical analysis and simulation results; finally, specific measures harmonic suppression and reactive power compensation to improve measures for such mixed-ran status quo, and used in the actual system, the use of the results show that these measures can effectively resolve the harmonics and reactive.
