Nowadays, the car is not only for us to provide a convenient, but also have acceleratedthe process of modernization. As an essential means of transport, car in modern society isplaying an increasingly important role.Balance suspension system consists of various parts of the structure safety of a directimpact on vehicle safety. The bracket is one of the main parts of the car balanced suspension,charged with the dual task of supporting the frame and transmission of force and torque. Itsworking condition poor, loading condition complex and more working condition. In theprocess of vehicle moving, working forces in the bracket consists of vertical force, lateralforce, driving and braking forces generated by the thrust rod, and the resulting torque. So thestatic strength analysis and fatigue life prediction is very important.Taking a heavy duty truck as a platform, this paper has carried on static strength analysisand fatigue prediction for balance shaft bracket of the balance suspension.Main work includes:1) Study on the basic concept of metal fatigue failure, material S-N curve and fatiguelimit, and fatigue damage accumulation theory, and anti fatigue design criteria from the theory,providing theoretical support for fatigue analysis.2) Creating the bracket finite element model in the Hypermesh panel. According to theactual situation of the applied load, respectively, on the condition of six, static and stiffnessanalysis are done for the bracket to make sure the position of maximum stress.3) Using the material S-N curve, in MSC.FATIGUE software the fatigue life prediction isdone for the bracket to determine the danger zone and fatigue life.In this paper, through the use of CAE technology on the balancing shaft bracket for staticstiffness analysis and fatigue life prediction. Problems can be found before products being putinto production, which further optimization work can be done, to shorten the productdevelopment cycle, reduce cost. It has great significance for the batch production of products.
