This article is based on the wk-10excavator used in the An Shan Iron and SteelGroup Cooperation,which analyzes the slewing ring device’s failure and mechanicalproperties of the excavator. In the working course of mining excavator, the slewingring devices play a crucial role, realizing the effects of the slewing platform load androtation. The slewing ring device is in complex force in the process of mining.Therefore, its reliability has important impact on the performance and quality of themachine.This article based on the slewing ring’s application and did the failure analysisof the practical work slewing ring. Focusing on the analysis of the more critical parts--roller, including the common form of failure, and put forward the measures and themain methods of improvement. Based on the work of wk-10shovel, the articleanalyzes the structural features of its slewing ring. Identify the typical operatingconditions when slewing under maximum load value, and solve the force when itpresses by bear shovel boom, bucket handle, bucket, Triangle, the counterweight,materials, etc. And meanwhile the study figures out the friction torque of slewing ringdevice.Based on two-dimensional drawings of wk-10shovel slewing ring, the studybuilds up the three-dimensional model, the imports the roller-track model built intoANSYS, which is a finite element analysis software. With help of the ANSYSWorkbench module, the study analyzes the roller-track stress and deformation, todraw the stress cloud pictures and displacement cloud pictures of the various partsunder working load. And know the influence of the edge effect to the parts.For improving the structure of the roller-track of the slewing ring device, whichby the way of transforming the cylindrical roller into conical roller, considering thatthere is a speed difference in the scroll of the track. The track will also be changed tocone on the basis of the original for reasonable coordination. Repeat cylindrical roller-track finite element analysis to analyze the stress and deformation of the conicalroller-track. Solving the stress cloud, the displacement cloud and comparing it withthe results from cylindrical roller-track.To obtained the effect and significance forthe improved structure.
