With the rapid development of economy and sustainable development ofelectricity-saving building steadily, the popularization of electricity-saving society hasbecome inevitable. Nowadays, the power consumption in college teaching building is large,however, our low awareness of electricity-saving and the backward lighting system cause agreat waste of the electricity. Therefore, it is urgently to build an intelligent electricity-savinglighting system in colleges.This essay focus on an intelligent controlling system which is based on power line carriercommunication technology. In this system, centralized power electronic ballasts are installedin every classrooms which will control the running performance of the lighting system bydual-mode control, meanwhile, the lighting area which is controlled by the lower machines isdetermined by the number of people and lighting condition. Moreover, the use of power linecarrier communication technology enables the mutual communication between upper machineand each classroom, which is a great help for people in learning the lighting condition andcontrolling the fluorescent lamp; Finally, this system uses the technology of Labwindows/CVI,the personalized interface design helps us to operate the system easily, with the technology,time is saving obviously in learning the lighting condition.Basing on the technology of power line carrier communication, the essay achieves thefollowing goals from the designing of the controlling system: firstly, with the intelligentlighting controlling of each classrooms, we can control the fluorescent lamp more simply andefficiently. secondly, the using of centralized power electronic ballasts is a means to save theenergy. thirdly, it not only reduces the management and raises the standard of managementbut also provides an effective and innovative method of energy-saving in colleges..
