Model Of Pedestrian Social Groups Based On Social Force

ABSTRACT:With the accelerating urbanization process and rapid development of so-cial economy, the pedestrian can choose a variety of modes of transportation to travel, but the vast majority of trips’beginning and end is on foot. So that the pedestrian traffic has its irreplaceable role in the various modes of traffic, while pedestrian traffic has also triggered a variety of new traffic problems. In many public places such as station, pe-destrian walkaway, pedestrian skyway, pedestrian traffic hub, congestion phenomenon common occur, which lead to inconvenient travel, longer delay, lower travel security. As a result, the agencies, units and individuals of domestic and foreign have conducted the research of pedestrian traffic in order to grasp the macroscopic and microscopic charac-teristics of pedestrian traffic to understand the mechanism of pedestrian behavior, strengthen pedestrian traffic planning and management, improve the efficiency of pe-destrian traffic, enhance security and reduce the impact of pedestrians on other modes of transportation.On the basis of existing pedestrian traffic’s research, this paper researches the pedes-trian traffic of the companion groups which between the macro-pedestrian characteris-tics and microscopic pedestrian traffic characteristics in order to further enrich and im-prove the flow of pedestrian traffic system’s research. Meanwhile, this paper establishes models of pedestrian social groups based on social force, which add visual force, con-vergence and repulsive force. Then this paper researches the characteristics of compan-ion groups and the impact on the traffic, using computer simulation technology.This paper mainly analyzes the following questions:First, pedestrian traffic characteristic is analyzed. This paper studies pedestrian macro-pedestrian characteristics and microscopic pedestrian, analysis the pedestrian traffic flow parameters and the relationship between the parameters, and traffic charac-teristics of social groups pedestrian.Second the model of pedestrian social groups is built and applied. The definition, composition, characteristics of social force model is analyzed to understand the mecha-nism of social force model better. Based on the study of pedestrian social groups, the paper defines model of pedestrian social groups, achieves the development of the simu-lation environment and research the pedestrian social groups traffic simulation.Third the influence of pedestrian social groups to the whole macroscopic property is researched. According to the simulation environment developed by MATLAB, this paper analysis the condition that whether or not consider pedestrian social groups, the condition that the pedestrian group contains different proportions peer group and the condition that personnel in the pedestrian social groups are different respectively. The result is that compared with independent individual, pedestrian social groups has more influence on the speed of the crowd, which provides a more comprehensive analysis of pedestrian traffic flow with better support.
