As full-face tunnel boring machine is one of sixteen projects which are strong supported by the state department for promoting national equipment manufacturing industry, aiming at manufacturing physical prototype and striving for realization of industrialization since2015. Although there were some achievement got by abroad, almost be kept secret for business rea-sons. Therefor it is necessary to do much research on structure analysis and function simula-tion for our full-face tunnel boring machine development independently.Base on virtual assembly technology. This research mainly focuses on the problem of TBM during assembly. The assembly of TBM is generally divided into the factory assembly and on-site assembly. The purpose of factory assembly is to verify the consistency of the manufacturing and design of TBM, the rationality of the design, and the ability to achieve. On-site assembly is ready for construction. In this paper, the author analyze the possibility of VR technology during the process of virtual assembly, developing a virtual assembly system with visual C++6.0and making a simulation.(1) Design the Virtual assembly model and simulation environment of TBM. The Pro/E model is converted into flt-files with the software called Deep Exploration. Then in the Crea-tor software, add the DOF nodes to the flt-files. Finally the files that have finished import into the simulation software called Vega setting up the model of TBM on the position and perspec-tives in the Vega.(2) In the TBM virtual assembly system, there is an assembly process module about TBM. In this paper, the TBM machine including the various components is seen as lots of rigid structure, that the process of assembly and disassembly is reversible. The assembly process sequence of TBM machine including lots of components is planned by using disassembly method. In this way, the author can arrive at a more reasonable assembly process, improving the efficiency of assembly.(3) This thesis adopted tabletop virtual reality system. The hardware system mainly in-cludes human-computer interaction devices (control cabinet), three-dimensional metal screen, stereo signal converter, the projector with polarized lens, graphics workstations. In order to realize the interaction of virtual assembly system, the author also developed a special control cabinet used for virtual assembly system interaction. Through the computer serial communi-cation, the system accomplished its interaction with the single chip microcomputer interac-tion.(4) The software system is composed of TBM parts database, cutter control module, the control module of the first shield an center shield, the erector control module, the back-up system control module. The virtual system can provide immersion simulation of TBM ma-chine’s disassemble and assembly process, not only be a real tunnel working process’s plan analysis tool additionally, but also be a virtual assembly training for operation person of full-face tunnel boring machine. therefore it has significant research value and economic ben-efit.(5) Show the TBM simulation process of virtual assembly system. It includes the re-moval and assembly process of whole TBM, the removal and assembly process of the knife dish, the removal and assembly process of the shield and the center shield, the removal and assembly process of back-up system..In this paper, the author has finished the development of the he virtual assembly system of TBM. It mainly includes the development of assembly technique module, components da-tabase module, simulation module etc.
