High capacity power electronic equipment are widely used in the distribution network, andthey reduce the power factor, which influences the grid power quality. So series compensationdevice is effective method which can reduce active loss and improve the operation of the electriccharacteristics. FACTS technology in improving power system operation stability and safety andthe power efficiency has a vital role, so this paper study on the static synchronous seriescompensator (SSSC) based on FACTS technology. Compared DFACTS with FACTS, they arenew comprehensive technology combined with power electronic and control theory to improvethe reliability of the power system, and they are also choosing the same controller and structure.But FACTS’ electrical nominal value is much bigger than FACTS in distribution networktechnology. So the distribution network of series compensation device is called D-SSSC.The series compensation device (D-SSSC) takes space voltage vector pulse widthmodulation (SVPWM) as control algorithm, and it is a control strategy which is used in motorspeed tracking on magnetic chain trajectory. The control strategy has the advantages of high dcside voltage utilization ratio and less output harmonic content, which is applied in multi-leveltopology structure of D-SSSC. In order that D-SSSC can improve power factor and the quality ofpower, the paper establishes diode clamp type three level topology structure of D-SSSCmathematical model in the MATLAB software simulation. The three-level SVPWM controlstrategy is used in model, and it realizes the simulation in distribution network system model. thesimulation analysis show that it not only proves series compensation device control strategycorrect, and verifies the D-SSSC the feasibility in improving power factor and the realization ofdynamic compensation.This article introduces the design of a small system, which verifies the two-level structureSVPWM in D-SSSC of implementation. Control system of compensation device of takes theDSP+CPLD as the core chip. The results show that D-SSSC has a good performance.
