The tailings dam (bank) is one of the most important facilities in mine production, and it is also the key source of danger. If landslides occurs at the dam or the dam bursts, mudslides carrying tremendous energy will rapidly sweep into downstream areas.Their destructive power is hard to imagine. So far, there have been numerous tailingsdam burst and landslide accidents, causing huge economic losses to the nation and thelocal people each time they happen. so the stability of the tailings dam is currentlysolved engineering problems.Based on the study of relevant papers, this article " Xinjiang Fuyun Jinshan Minetailings online monitoring system" project and the National Natural Science FundProject "Considering the large spatial variability of the tailings dam failure analysisand reliability of stability stabilization mechanism " as the basis, Using laboratory andfield test, numerical simulation, to explore the tailings dam Jinshan soil physical andmechanical characteristics; analysis the stability of Jinshan tailings dam under theaction of seepage, the main conclusions are obtained as follows:(1)After introduces the most common method for stability analysis of tailingsdam, reach this conclusion that The stability is obtained by strength reduction analysisof tailings dam numericalreduction theory is closer to reality than based on limitequilibrium method.(2)By selecting Jinshan lots tailings dam representative soil samples for indoorsoil test, with the modern mathematical statistics analysis, analysis of thephysical andmechanical characteristics of Jinshan tailing dam soil, the tailings soil density is thedense, humidity is saturated, particle gradation is good, the average angle of internalfriction phi is25.67degrees, the average cohesion c is15.43KPa.(3)Through the MIDAS/GTS software, refer to the tailings dam design files, applications soil test data to establish a numerical model tailings dam, studied undersix conditions to analyzed tailings dam displa cement, shear strain, pore waterpressure, stress, have bit shift with the damming a linear growth trend, while the flood operation growth is greater than that of the normal operation of growth.(4) With the increase of the dam height, dry beach length decreases, damsafety factor dropped to1.16from2.54. In the normal operation of the safety factorunder the minimum value is1.27, in the flood runs the minimum value is1.16, but thetwo are greater than the specified minimum value. So Jinshan dam in the normaldrainage system, dry beach length not less than the flood line of the premise, is stableIn this paper, through theoretical analysis, experiment and numerical simulationmethod to analyze the conclusion can provide some reference for future similarstability analysis of tailings dam.
