The sustainable preservation is one of thecrucial topics of preservation projects for celebrities’residences.Firstly, the field survey and mapping of a large amount of the former residences ofcelebrities in Qingdao forms a lot of information of the current situation of buildings.Taking international and domestic experience for reference, this article defines theconcept of the former residences of celebrities in Qingdao, describes the modes of theformer residences of celebrities from building type, property status and professionaltype three points, studies the architectural styles and the structure types, and states thedeep historical value, cultural value, architectural value and utilization value.Secondly, through drawing the space distribution of former residences ofcelebrities in Qingdao and segmenting the map into seven regions, this articleintroduces the situation of different levels of heritage conservation and analyzes thereuse of former residences of celebrities, and summarizes the main problem inprotection and utilization.Lastly, based on the value assessment for the former residences of celebrities, thearticle focuses on the five use patterns including the office building pattern, the nursinghome pattern, the restaurant pattern, the club pattern and the hotel pattern and proposessome technology measures of protecting the former residences of celebrities.At the same time, through case analysis of the Former Residence of Lao She, thearticle introduces the practical application, which refered to the protection andutilization strategy, hopes that other modern former residences of celebrities can be protected reasonably and revive with vigor and energy.
