With the advancement of technology and the rapid socio-economic development,particularly in the large number of applications of computer, microcontroller, the user ofthe power system is not only require to increase the total electricity consumption, butalso want to improve the quality of the power supply. Due to the inductive load and theimpact load in the grid are more, althrough they facilitate the economic development andour life, but they have brought a lot of reactive current and harmonic current into the grid,seriously impact on the quality of power supply. Therefore, reactive currentcompensation and harmonic current suppression have become the the main researchfocus to increasing the power quality. This paper choosed the reactive currentcompensation as a reaserch direction, selected the Static Var Generator (Static VarGenerator, SVG) as the research projects carried out in-depth research.The paper first discussed the basic principles of the SVG and its main circuit design.The real-time detection of reactive current is one of the key technologies to achieve SVG.The paper deduced p-q Detection method andi d-i qDetection method. Thesedetection methods need to use the low-pass filter.The paper studied the parameters ofdigital low-pass filter design and its software programming.For the many timeszero-crossing phenomenon in the the grid voltage zero-crossing detection circuit, Thepaper gave a new phase-locked loop control strategy.The SVG mathematical model and control strategy is another key technology toachieve SVG. The paper deduced the mathematical model and control principle of SVGin dq coordinates,and reaserched the concrete realization of the PWM pulse width controltechnology for current tracking control.Gave the relations of a triangle wave comparisonand a SPWM (Sinusoidal PWM),reaserched the Hysteresis compare’s maximumswitching frequency in three-phase system,analysed the SVPWM (Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation) algorithm and its software implementation process.Finally, developed a SVG experimental system, introduced some of the keyhardware and software implementation of SVG experimental system. based on hysteresiscontrol strategy,have done the experimental research and simulation.
