As the technology of LED constantly breakthrough and the process gradually perfect, and the improvement of people’s environmental protection and the realistic situation of the energy shortage, the LED is gradually replace traditional light source with its green, economy, intelligence and other advantages in lighting field. But a single LED cannot meet the demand for the normal lighting in the application, and LED combination is adopted to achieve the desire lighting effect, that makes the optical characteristics of the LED combination extremely important. In addition, it requires more theoretical support and actual cases that LED as a new application replace traditional light sources. In this paper, we optimize the LED arrays by using simulation software of Tracepro, and find a best kind of array design by the comparison. Then we study and analyze the LED lighting design of underground parking lot by DIALUX.First of all, briefly introducing the basic theory of the LED and the LED light source development history and present situation, then detailing the non-image optics, laid a theoretical basis for the optical design. In order to clarify the role and significance of optical simulation in LED illumination optical system design, the paper also introduces the basic theory and methods of optical ray tracing.This paper is focusing on LED sources modeling by Tracepro. Combining the theoretic of LED array, a detailed optical analysis is taken on four forms of LED planar array, which are3×3square array, Archimedean spiral array,3-6concentric array and1-8circular array. By the comparison, find the best array form. Then a reference of design can be provided for the LED illumination optics. Analysis the LED lighting applied in underground parking lots using DIALUX. First considering from two aspect of energy saving and intelligent control, and then some simulations, calculation, and optimization on the LED light of the parking lot are also done by DIALUX. The results show it is entirely possible that LED used in the underground parking lots. It can achieve energy saving, environmental protection, economy and intelligent control, and its application prospect is very optimistic.
