Because of Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has quickly identify, usetime long, strong penetrability, low cost and is not easy to be copied, so it is increasingly usedin security, transportation, access control system and other fields. This paper describes andanalyzes a series of problems about the present within the substation, such as unlock key isvarious and easy to lost or be copied, the management style is backward, and these problemswill cause electrical misoperation accidents, then the smart key based on RFID is put forward.It adopts the traditional way of rotary to open the lock, and achieving a series of functionssuch as the staff classification management, credit card or password login, through the GSMshort message for remote operation and setting, and it can save the operation records.In this paper, compared the several methods which are committed to solve themismanagement of the unlock key in substation, researched the development status of someidentify type smart key, and then proposed design goals, functional requirements and thewhole design project of the smart key. Then built the hardware system in which STM32F103microprocessor acted as the core, and elaborated the hardware circuit design from hardwareselection and components. Designed the RFID circuit and antenna to achieve accurateidentification of the locks; studied the technique of GSM short message, and achieved theremote communication between management center with the smart key; USB interface circuitwas designed and realized the data upload and download function with supervision center; Inaddition, also designed the external data storage circuit and power supply circuit, realized thestorage of operating records and USB power management functions. Finally, the paperanalyzed the software process and architecture, designed the program under the softwareplatform of IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, and then realized the system function.On the basis of the above work, Set up the test system of smart key and carried outexperiments for system performance. Through experiment and analysis, the smart key whichdesigned can be able to accurately open the authorized locks, the indicators have reached thesystem design requirements.
