The traditional construction process of shear wall generally were included:binding steel bar, supporting shear wall formwork, pouring concrete, demolition of the template and maintenance, paste/spraying thermal insulation layer of exterior wall, daub coating, coating/brick on the surface. Many shortcomings were existed in the traditional construction process:Complexity of construction process, if there was a mishandling link and would rework consequences, leaded to a longer construction period; Large amount of labors were needed, directly influenced the construction cost, thus increase engineering cost; Repeating utilization rate of wooden template, bamboo template and other traditional template was too low, wasted heavily natural resources, long-term usage could cause environmental crisis. In order to be able to solve the shortcomings of traditional construction process of the shear wall, based on the early staged research of composite cement template without demolition, our group invented thermal self-insulation composite shear wall system.According to the prior period market research of thermal insulation materials, the paper mainly was taken comprehensive analysis about the market prices of existing thermal insulation materials, fire resistance level and thermal performance. Finally selecting the polyurethane was as the thermal insulation layer of the template. Further prepared with the heat preservation function of the composite shear wall specimen, and experimental research on thermal self-insulation composite shear wall under low-cyclic reversed loads.According to five kinds of influence factors which included different the ratio of the width and thickness, different types of templates, different ways of interface relations, different supporting way templates, different axial compression ratio, a total of7common shear wall specimens is designed. By means of each shear wall specimens under low-cyclic reversed loading test:on the bearing capacity of thermal insulation composite shear wall, hysteresis properties, deformation properties, rigidity degeneration, energy dissipation performance were analyzed and compared with the traditional shear wall with each performance; for the cooperative work performance of the thermal insulation composite template and concrete wall, interface bond properties of the thermal insulation composite template, and failure modes were studied. Research results showed that since the new type of thermal insulation composite shear wall structure system had good performance, the results can provide a certain basis for the application in engineering of the insulation composite shear walls.
